my therapist said the best thing to me a few days ago:
“i think you’re too worried about whether or not you’re acting crazy. who cares? you’ve spent your whole life terrified of your own emotions, and it’s time to let that go. it’s okay to be a little wild, and a little unreasonable, and a little strange. it’s okay if you people call you crazy, because they’re usually only doing it to silence you. i’m going to challenge you to, just for this week, accept and act out whatever emotion you’re feeling. i’m not saying that you should be violent or chop someone up into little pieces, but let go of feeling like you’re not behaving appropriately. i promise that you will be just fine.”
